The Secret Life of Bicycles


ParisCycles doesn’t mince any words. Its articulate formal vocabulary of texture and color practically shouts, “I’m a painting!” Artist, Ann O’Brien took her 3-dimensional inspiration and flattened it -- embracing the sensuous qualities of her medium with confident swipes of her pallet knife, energetic stippling and murky layers of color. “It’s the tactile, fluid quality of the paint that encourages me,” she says. The result is an image that reveals the hidden life of an ordinary object through the prismatic lens of paint.
