Bitten by the synesthesia bug at an early age, Kerry Hirth, an experienced musician and artist, has the ability to combine the senses of sound and sight. Like her other "compositions," her long pastel-on-canvas artwork is named after the classical piece, Ave Maria. The warm and cool colors colors are dynamic and meditated, much like how Franz Schubert had intended for his famous piece to sound. The juxtaposition of complementary colors give it an effervescent quality, but the faded edges of each color block evokes serenity.
Of course, only Hirth knows what music looks like. Today is the last day to see her interpretation.
